Am I Eligible for Canonical Membership in the Ordinariate?

Even if you do not live near an Ordinariate parish, you may still become a member of the Ordinariate. If you are already a Catholic, you must fill out the official “Membership Registration Form” and mail in a physical copy to the Chancery offices in Houston (see info under "Membership Registration Form" tab for more details).

There are four categories of people who are eligible for canonical membership:

1). If you are an Anglican, a former Anglican, or are married to or in the family of an Anglican or former Anglican, you can be a member of the Ordinariate.

2). If you are a non-Roman Catholic of any denomination and wish to be received into the Catholic Church through the Ordinariate you can belong to the Ordinariate.

3). Those who have been baptized in the Catholic Church but have not yet been confirmed and have received first communion may also be prepared and complete their Christian Initiation in Ordinariate missions and parishes.

4). Anyone who has been enriched by the evangelising mission of the Ordinariate may request to become a canonical member of the Ordinariate.

* Of course, any Catholic can attend Ordinariate Masses, fulfill Sunday obligation, and partake of the sacraments through the ministry of an Ordinariate priest or chaplain without becoming a canonical member.
